Once upon a time, USENET was a useful forum for debate and discussion online (a few years ago, however, it was unfortunately taken over by spam and newbies... it became "September hele året" as one of my fellow authors wrote...).
On a happy note, DejaNews used to archive loads and loads of newsgroups, and now our favourite search-engine Google has purchased their archives (and more), and therefore some of my hundreds of old postings from my student days are available here:
