Beautiful Science: The Analemma

Taking a picture of the analemma is a project requiring painstaking patience and attention to detail.

What is the analemma? If you photograph the sun once a week at the same time of day for an entire year, you'll have a photo of the analemma. It's basically the sun's apparent path on the sky over the course of a year, and it looks kind of like the figure "8".
