The quest for the ideal news aggregator (part 4) - Review: BlogHog

BlogHog is a basic news-aggregator site in a layout inspired by Google News(?)

Does the trick, but isn't really very configurable.

Good stuff:

  • it's fast
  • it's easy to add sources from the Top-list to the "Favourites"-list
  • the design is lean.
Room for improvement:
  • it's not very clear how feeds are being refreshed (user-initiated? doesn't seem like it. by pings? no info)
  • it's only possible to sort by source, not displaying articles chronologically
