Usability and patterns for creating searches on a website

Bobulate has posted a review and classification of different types of searches a website can offer its users here. Quite interesting, and especially the "passive option" for sites where one want to emphasize the ordinary navigation instead of letting the user search directly (if, for example, the site's searching is incomplete or in other ways less desireable than normal navigation)...
