Gåte

This week's musical discovery: the Norwegian band Gåte combines traditional folk songs with a modern, sometimes chilled, sometimes a bit "rocked" sound. Definitely worth sampling if you're open for something new!

Some official music clips are available from Warner Music Norway and from the "audio gallery" section of the band's official homepage.

Those of you into file sharing should search out my current favourite song "Bruremarsj frå Jämtland" for a track that doesn't require any understanding of the Norwegian language, or get "Ingi Litimor" to sample 16-year-old singer Gunnhild E. Sundli's beautiful voice (alternatively, check out anything from the CD "Jygri", then buy it :-)
