I'm a little sceptical to this:
What seemed like inconsequential chatter a few short years ago has developed into a cutting edge phenomenon that will provide the internet used with a new wave of income generating opportunity! If you're that smart - howcome you're not that rich? Very few people have managed to make (serious) money off their blogs in any direct way. Indirectly, blogs can sell books/CDs/etc, indirectly blogs can sell consulting services, and so on and so on; but living off blogging itself? That's for AAA-list bloggers that aren't among us yet, I think... Even the super-famous Trott family's main income is from a product, not from the blogs themselves...?
Blogging is what chat was in 1996! Are you ready to get a head start on the new internet revolution?
Yes, if you currently chat on-line you basically have the ability to create your own weblog (blog) for short, and also the opportunity to get in on one of the biggest trends on the internet. One way of looking at Blogging is by seeing it as "chat with a purpose, design and regularity". Quite frankly however, one of the refreshing attributes of the web log surge is that there are not a lot of "rules" regarding its creation.
What is the bottom line for you, the average internet user who likes to chat on-line?? Here it is, learn to harness your internet time spent chatting into creating an income machine via the blogging phenomena. I will tell you, better yet, SHOW you how to do this.
"Very few people have managed to make (serious) money off their blogs in any direct way."
Who is trying to make money with their blog? Very few are inclined to make money with their writing. For most, blogging is a social activity.
That will change with time, as mainstream America displaces the nerds and geeks that pervade the blogosphere. Eventually more writers and authors will appear, and seek ways to support themselves financially.
As far as the link you provided...
The page is a destination page meant to attract search engine traffic. The product they are hawking is not specifically for bloggers.

Posted by: GoldBlogger on May 6, 2003 10:49 PMBlogging is still too niche to make millions, yes. This and many other sites are just trying to catch people who felt they missed out on the dot com boom of the late 90s. That said blogs can be put to use as commercial tools, but the only way to make a fortune is if you are an a-list blogger and that really is about great content and great PR - no different from a regular website.
You can however make enough money to cover your costs and then use this as a base to launch a career in journalism or consulting.
Posted by: Tristam on January 4, 2004 08:14 PMThat page is an obvious attempt to trick the search engines and get a high key phrase ranking, just as GoldBlogger said.
As far as making money with blogs. No, people aren't going to make millions. And yes, most people can earn enough to cover their costs, etc..
However, there is a middle ground and it is easily achievable if done right, by anyone.

Posted by: BlogsToRiches on January 23, 2004 04:37 AMI think we'll find that more and more people will start making serious money from blogging. Of course the average blogger won't make more than a few dollars but anyone wanting to put a bit of hard work into it can make a reasonable income with a bit of know how. I know it's changed my earning capacity over the last year or so.

Posted by: Mark on April 3, 2005 11:19 PMVery few people make money at any type of business. Only the very diligent who spend many hours at their craft will make money.
Making money at blogging is not an easy task.
