Tony Pierce auctioned a link from his weblog on eBay. (via Steven Hatch via BoingBoing). The winning bid ended up at some 30$.
Seeing how weblogs and other personal websites are accumulating more and more so-called Google PageRank ("GoogleJuice"), these sites can certainly skew the search engine results if enough high-profile sites link to a certain page; a classic example being David Gallagher's chase for the top spot on Google...
Also, didn't you ever wonder why popdex.com lists platinum-diamond.com, sndgems.com and similar as donors? They're not blogs, but Popdex has a Google PageRank of 7 (of 10 maximum) giving the gem-dealer sites a boost in their search engine rankings...
Will we see more publicistst targetting personal websites, or will personal website owners start selling permanent links off their websites for money? What are the ethical implications? Will Google punish the sites that "go commercial"? Think and discuss below ;-)

Selling links from high PageRank pages isn't new. You probably want to check out the SearchKing story ( http://www.google.com/search?q=searchking+google+sued+%7C+lawsuit ).
