If you thought otherwise (I did) - the oh-so-2003 Flashmob phenomenon wasn't dead: just got an email about an upcoming Pillow Fight in London, 6th of October: London Pillow Fight Club. Could be fun.
Odditites: the HTML source code of the page contains a reference to this page, which contents I am unable to dechiper. The about page from the homepage of mobile clubbing suggest these chaps invented a disco-variant of flashmobbing:
Mobile Clubbing began a year ago with just a small group of friends. Bravely donning their headphones and descending into the rush hour tide of commuters at Liverpool Street Station, they danced across the nice shiny floor to the sounds of £1 radios. Since then Emma and I have used covertly filmed documentation in order to be screened at non-profit making club nights and film festivals all over the U.K. The screenings were used to spread awareness of the events in order to recruit more Clubbers via e-mail. The films inspired many to show up. Through word of mouth and of course the world wide web Mobile Clubbing has grown bigger and bigger.I dunno, be aware that these chaps are filming you if you go...
... oh and then there is "Flashmob - The Opera" coming soon in London courtesy of BBC3.
In reference to your comments about the "oddities" on the Mobile Clubbng website I think if you read again that the flyer you was not able to 'decipher' is in Hebrew. It was for the folk in Israel that attended our last event in Tel Aviv.
Please read stuff more clearly before you start branding things as indecipherable.
Anyways, praps i'll see you down at Pillow Fight Club so I can "dooosch" you on the head with my favorite feathered freind.
I am a journalist at BBC London and I am trying to get hold of contact details for the organisers of the pillow fight.
If you could help me out I would be grateful.
Thanks,
Harriet Grant
