iPod without iTunes

Loads of people come here looking for information on how to use your iPod without using the rather annoying iTunes.

The mlIpod plugin to win amp used to be the answer; now even the free basic version of WinAmp 5.2 supports the iPod and other portable players (PlaysForSure and Creative devices) natively. Nice one. Unfortunately you still need to use their Media Library functionality; no swanky Windows Explorer drag and drop interface (yet!)
